Lifestlye Do It If It's Legal

A somewhat controversial figure on the world professional golf circuit is John Daly. He is well known for his chain smoking, excessive drinking and gambling habits.

When Daly was asked about his lifestyle on his Australian visit in 2008, he simply replied that "if it was legal he would do it." If society deemed that an activity or pastime was not illegal then there was no reason why he couldn’t get involved.

This is an attitude that is not unique to Daly. There is a general approach to morality that if our community condones it as legal, it must be right. What we do in this approach is to give the government and community leaders the right to determine and define our morality.

Can I encourage you to set your own standards and ask yourself, what do I believe is right? What is best for my life, my friends and my family? You may discover that the life and teachings of Jesus are a much more effective measure of a great life than the parameters our community sets.
